Social Focused Wellness Benefits for Students and Staff

Beauchemin, J. (2018). Solution-Focused Wellness: A Randomized Controlled Trial of College
Students. Health and Social Work of Oxford University Press, 43(2), 94-100.
ABSTRACT: Higher education programs often take place in large classrooms with many students. In an experiment conducted on college students results found that a student feels less stressed in a smaller group, rather than a large classroom or one on one. Wellness programs taking it to the next level and making it a social reaction can benefit many students to be potentially supported. When wellness programs are expanded to a social level it can increase student wellness that can last through multiple semesters and decrease stress levels experienced throughout every year of college.

Although this tool, helps professors reach students on their level. From which social media account that was most popular to students, it was Facebook. Facebook has been a wide branded market, though recently took over Instagram. That addition, would thrust Instagram possibly to the top of the scale. Instead they provide helpful ways to work through the hard struggles of today. Different services are offered including virtual care packages, emotional wellness, self-screening, and self-help tools. Virtual appointments have also been available to students. Privacy is especially important to staff and students. Through virtual blockers online and private rooms, discussions are safe. For students to sign up they just click on the link or talk with their health and wellness coach in specifically getting an appointment. While health and wellness coaching are different from counseling, it is important for coaches to address these opportunities to students.

Wellness Coaching FAQ. Division of Student Affairs. https://studentaffairs.iupui.edu/health/wellness-

     programs/coaching/coaching-faq.html

ABSTRACT: Health and wellness is not a form of counseling, but is solely focused on behavior change. “Coaches can work with students with mental health concerns as long as they are not addressing those as their primary form of treatment -- i.e., helping someone who is also being treated for depression work on their time management skills.” There are eight dimensions of wellness, which are the key focus for the coaches, professional staff members and graduate students, in order to help benefit each student to become the better version of themselves. At IUPUI there are no limits to the number of sessions given for each student, they typically offer four to six meetings at one hour each, and slowly meeting less and less depending on progress.

Using Social Media as an Advertising Unit to Higher Education Users

Zenith, M., & Radhika, R. (n.d.). Forecasting the impact of social media advertising among college students

using higher order statistical functions. Retrieved October 27, 2020, from https://www.scpe.org/
ABSTRACT: Social media is often used for people to talk about their lives and share opinions, but can also be used as a marketing tool. For college students now days, social media is not uncommon whatsoever. Majority of students has an account on multiple platforms. When marketing on social media, make it specific to the group you are targeting. For IUPUI this may be graduating students or those of a specific group or race. Clearly stating who you are going after is the best ways to reach those groups. Perhaps you can use certain activities or meetings to express best what is trying to be conveyed. IUPUI can use this service as a clear representation to be concise with what they are trying to say and do.
